The twenty-first artist in our Who Is series for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 is Go-Jo from Australia.
Go-Jo, stage name of Marty Zambotto, was born in 1995 in Manjimup, Western Australia, from a French father and an Australian mother – thus holding Australian and French dual citizenship.
Go-Jo started his activity as a musician very early. He received his first guitar at 13 years of age, and started writing and producing songs for other artists. His solo career took a turn later on, when he moved to Sydney.
His first viral success came in 2020, when he sang a cover of Goo Goo Dolls’ “Iris”, achieving more than 3 million streams on Spotify. In 2023, his song “Mrs. Hollywood” peaked at number 1 in the Australian Independent Record Labels Association, with the song spreading quickly and reaching soon one billion views across all video platforms and social media.
In 2023, Go-Jo was the 9th most streamed Australian artist in the world, which allowed him to tour across Australia, Europe, the United States and Southeast Asia, and share the stage with some of the biggest artists in the world. He currently has over 1.4 million followers across TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram.
After confirming an internal selection, on February 25, 2025 the Australian broadcaster SBS announced that Go-Jo would represent the country at the 69th Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, Switzerland, with the song “Milkshake man”.
Australia have been drawn to compete in the first half of the second semi-final, on May 15.

Australia debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2015 as part of celebrations marking 60 years of the Eurovision Song Contest. The broadcaster SBS has broadcast Eurovision in Australia since 1983. Australia’s best result to date came in 2016 Australia when Dami Im, with the song “Sound of Silence,” finished in 2nd place in the final scoring 511 points, just 23 points away from victory.
